Default some success with stopping hair loss

Hello all,

My daily shed has decreased by half! I used to count about 70 hairs between the shower and combing, and a few weeks after starting my reigmen the shed is down to 35.

I know that sounds like a lot, but I've always shed a lot of hair - even when I was a kid. That's because I started out with a ton of hair. Over the past year I've noticed thinning at the temples and at the frontal lobe. I suspect it's the chromium and the Nourishair vitamins from GNC.

Chromium had almost an immediate effect on me. Whereas before whenever I stood up I got dizzy, with chromium my dizziness is much less. But whenever I forget to take it I'm dizzy all over again.

I haven't yet detected regrowth, if I do I'll definitely post it.

Thanks much for the encouragement!

Besides steroids like Aldactone, or prescription med insulin sensitizers, if anyone has additional recommendations for treatments that work, please post them.

Somehow, I don't want to try Rogaine yet.

Oh my god! The shed cut in half again!! This morning I only counted 15 hairs in the shower and brushing my hair afterwards. This is an absolute record. I swear I used to lose handfuls! (not that it shows too much, just up front.)

Thank you to everyone who recommended all your best remedies and supplements. What a godsend, thank you. I just hope it continues and that I see re-growth.

Regards,
Rachelle

Question Which chromium?

Rachelle,

Which type of chromium are you taking? GTF or picolinate? Glad it's working for you!!

Be well,
NJCyster

Hi NJcyster,

I'm using picolinate. I think it's the chromium - I say this because it had such a real and immediate effect on my not being dizzy anymore. But you'll notice from my sig that I'm taking a pretty varied cocktail of supplements - all for the same amount of time: 3 weeks.

I've heard that saw and supplements like nourishair take several months to take effect. So the most likely suspect for having an effect on reduced shed would appear to be chromium and reduced carbs and no sugar.

Best regards,
Rachelle

Flaxseed/evening primrose oils and saw palmetto worked within weeks to stop the shed for me.

Wow, that's awesome. And your sig is really inspiring. Have you seen regrowth?

Have you been on anything else besides primrose, flaxseed oil, and saw palmetto to induce ovulation?

Also, my endo (whom I quit because he's a creep) told me that the cysts never go away but just stay there in the ovary. Several women, however, have posted that they have disappeared. Do you know how this works, and how you did it?

best regards, and thanks.

First of all the cysts DO NOT stay there. He doesn't know what he is talking about. Perhaps he is thinking of fibroids, however, those can go away on their own or with help too. Conventional dr.s used bcp's all the time to get rid of cysts in "normal" women patients.

Dr. Lee recommends using natural progesterone cream (NPC) to get rid of cysts.
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...673803/ggbc-20
I'm a big believer in using NPC to support the luteal phase of the cycle every and keep my pregnancy as well. (used it for first trimester too)

For cysters, I believe it is also combination of controlling your insulin and androgens to stop the cysts from forming. These are the most common causes.

However, for inducing ovulation I credit to reducing my weight and need for insulin with the IR Diet. When I had lost the bulk of the weight I got another u/s scan and the cysts were gone. Bloodwork also showed I ovulated regularly. So for me, insulin control was the key. And using Natural progesterone cream.

I look at the supplements as more "cosmetic" than helpful for ovulation.Yes, I had regrowth before pg, I posted about it a long time ago last year if you want to do a search. I have tons of hair now with this pregnancy, not sure what it's going to be after delivery though!

That's just wonderful to hear. Congratulations and best wishes to you and your family!

I will look into NPC very shortly. I've been using the wrong form of vitex and saw palmetto it seems, and will be switching over as well.

It's amazing that you achieved these results without metformin or aldactone.

Warmest regards,
Rachelle
