Unhappy something strange has happened..

I need some advice..
A little history (as brief as I can).. I've been on Glucophage for almost 4 years, been af'ing regular for the past 3, have been using a clearplan fertility monitor for 2 years and have been ovulating (only missing two months this year), still haven't gotten pg, so I decided to start taking vitex, here's where the weird stuff starts...

I ovulated on August 6 -7, and had pre-ovulatory spotting on 4th & 5th. AF started August 22 - 25.
I started the vitex the day after ending af which was August 26th, which was cd12.
On Sept. 4th (cd14) I started spotting again, (I also had two bars on fertility monitor which meant fertility was increasing) I assumed this was pre-ovulatory spotting again.
I continued to spot and on the 6th (cd16) I started full fledge bleeding and continued to bleed heavy until the 9th. All the while I still had two bars on fertility monitor.
Bleeding slowed to spotting on Sept. 9th and on the 10 & 11th I had positive ovulation.
If this was a real af there was only 8 - 9 days between bleeding. How strange is this..?? Is this a bad sign or what.. I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't take the vitex, or could it be correcting something?? Anybody..?

Isn't the function of "Vitex" to force a bleed if you do not get AF on your own?

I could be wrong- just asking

Everything I've read about it says it helps balance hormone levels and adds in acheiving pregnancy. I have read several comments from women on this site that *credit* it for them finally conceiving.
