Default Sorry I just can't help it.

Hi

Sorry I just can't help it, ranting on. Tomorrow Thursday 12 April at 2.30pm I am going to see a male specialist from Endocrinology Department, I am just so nervous, can't stop thinking about it, whirling around my head. I try and do other things, but I am always thinking about what is going to happen tomorrow, is he going to be nice, horrible(I don't really know). If he is horrible how am I going to cope. I don't know.

I think it’s only normally to find yourself feeling somewhat anxious over the appointment but don’t worry…. Just be yourself, write down before you go any questions you might have!

Good Luck!

Just remember to breathe and as Mazarin said, make a list of any and all questions you want to ask. Once you get in there and start talking you'll end up forgetting half of your original questions.

Hi

Many Thanks for all your replies.

I went to the appointment on my own, as my partner couldn't find a parking space. I got told where to go and was waiting in the waiting room at around 2.15 pm. A nurse came and grabbed my notes and took me into a room where is weighed me, measured my height and I had to give her a urine sample. I then had to wait for what seemed ages, my heart was beating( I was getting really anxious and panicy. Some other people came in the waitiing room they said that their appointment is at 2.45 pm but the nurse had 4.15pm on her books. I waited, getting more nervous, then the nurse showed the people who was after me into a consultant room( :ragh leaving me hanging on waiting to be seen. Eventually at around 3.00pm I got seen, but it wasn't a man(who I was expecting) it was his registrar.

The registrar was asking questions, about family history, about my periods, when did I start, when did I start having problems with my periods etc( I found it hard to remember as my memory is carp at the moment), asking about my lifestyle etc and then I had to take my tshirt off and she was pinching the skin on my hands, feeling my neck, looking at my nipples( ) and checking my blood pressure and checking my heart.

she wanted me to have my blood taken again, for me to have a vaginal ultrasound(I was given a sheet which says radiology department on the bottom, not sure what to do with it, she did tell me but I have forgotten). She did say that the radiology will write to me with an appointment( I am confused :shrug2 . Also she is doing a test to see if I have Cushing Syndrome, I have to take a 1mg tablet of dexamethasone on Sunday night at 11.00 pm and then go the folllowing day around 9.00 am and have another blood test done. She did state that I should take regular exercise(I don't have any motivation) and try and loose some weight and to go and see a nurse about weight at my doctors(the nurse is a bigish lady). Try to eat more healthly. Also she did mention if I have ever taken metaforin,( I wonder if she is going to put me on that?) I have to go back in a round 6 weeks time.

Sorry for all of that it is a bit long.

Cheers
