Default Soul Cysters Closing Out On Its Own

Since yesterday, everytime I visit Soul Cysters, after a few minutes it will either just close out on it's own and disappear or I get an error message saying that an error has occurred and Explorer must close.

It seems to happen only when I'm checking out new posts. I usually can't get past page 2 or 3. I've come to Soul Cysters four times in the last half hour and it just keeps closing out on me.

Anybody else having this problem. It's only been since yesterday.

I've never had that problem on SC but have on other sites. In my experience Internet explorer is a crappy browser to begin with. Try downloading a different browser like Mozilla Foxfire or Opera. both are free to dl online and work pretty well. I use Mozilla and have never had any trouble. Good luck.

I thought our DSL was having problems, but the other day I had all my browsers close at once for no apparent reason. It may be a somewhat harmless virus unrelated to SC. Today twice I was logged out of different sites (SC and TheFaithCafe) for no apparent reason.

I don't think the browser is the probelm as this has never ever happened prior to yesterday, and I visited numerous websites but only Soul Cysters closed out repeatedly.

Run your antivirus for viruses and spyware. I'm going to do that today. I have noticed Microsoft has been putting out a LOT of malicious program antidotes lately, so there may be something attacking IE they are fighting.

Windows Defender is a new free beta from Microsoft. DH uses it at work and he's in IT.

Okay. I ran my virus program and spybot search and destroy. Nada.

Baaaah! This is so annoying. It just keeping closing out over and over but only with this site.

Do you think it has anything to do with spammer that infiltrated the boards over the last couple days.

Yeah I have been having problems with it too but it only happens while I am at work. When I am on SC at home it doesn't happen.

I ran Windows Defender and it came up with nothing. I don't think it's the spammer, but who knows. Maybe Kat's programmer/designer is working on the site or something. My IE only closed out ONE day.

Just thought of this, but when was the last time you updated IE? Sometimes it plays tricks on me if it wants to update and I won't update Windows.

ditto. I'm home now and haven't encountered any problems yet, although I haven't really been reading any threads, yet.

Now that you mention it, it closed out on me three times on a thread I was trying to read on the mommy board. It was this thread:

When people comment on 1 child being prettier than the other

Everytime I tried to look at the second page of posts, I would get kicked out. I'll try it now and see what happens.

Well, I went to that thread and was able to look down through all the posts with no problems.

I'm stumped.

I'm back at work now and haven't encountered any problems yet.

Maybe the bugs have worked themselves out.

Could it be a myspace virus? According to the article below there are several out there:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...n_page_id=1770

If you were at myspace recently, you may have picked up a bug that the antivirus programs cannot detect yet.

Never been on myspace, so I don't think it was that. Whatever it was, it must have worked itself out.
