will be hitting the gym today and discussing everything with a trainer. just kind of worried that exercise brings on af so heavily and then i am out of commission for a few days until she lightens up again.

It makes SUCH a difference when you 'click' with a workout. The time just FLIES by. I had a 'false start' with FIRM: Something-or-other-Maximum Bootcamp. I was bored to tears within minutes. Popped that one out, and popped in SSE: CC, and I was good to go.

I'm not at 'burnout'...last week through me off from being out of town for 5 days, so it's taking me longer to get back on sked. (Plus, I'll be glad when yoga week is over.)
For me the key to avoiding burnout is to always keep on hand a selection of workouts that I REALLY like, and to keep mixing them up. Also, it helps me to have a 'plan', so when my mind wanders away from the 'task at hand', I can look at the plan. Even if it's just planning one day in advance - like today... I put my workout clothes out the night before, and the SSE: CC video, so I could just roll out of bed and get started without too much thought or puttering around.

There are many types of exercise from light intensity to heavy...do they all cause you problems? Even something along the lines of a basic Walk Away the Pounds workout?

Thought this might amuse you all. I've had a rather interesting side effect from bootcamp. Apparently Cardio Max (and watching Biggest Loser Australia on youtube) is affecting me. I had a fun dream early this morning, and who was in the star role? BOB. I woke up giggling. Dh just rolled his eyes when I told him. I thought it was pretty funny. I may feel a little sheepish tonight when I pop that dvd in. I may not be able to look Bob in the eyes.
Oh, and I saw something else this morning --- the slightest hint of a muscle in my upper abs. There's a lot of flab there still, but there's a dent starting in the flab. Whoo hooo. I'm figuring that underneath the extra fat there is a fantastic body forming. LOL.
Well, off to the zoo this morning with the kids.
Will pop back in later.

Obviously this isn't my best week ever...but I started doing 2X per day in early March, so it's sensible to me to back off a bit for a week when my foot started to have issues.
I think backing off when your body needs it is a good way to avoid burn out. I have to keep reminding myself: this is a change for life. Am I willing to do this for the rest of my life?
The answer for AM workouts is a qualified yes: yes as long as I can sleep in if I really need it. And this week I've decided my body must really need it.
That said, if I still can't get up tomorrow, next week is drastic measures week...I trained myself to get up at 5 am in the first place by setting two alarms: my clock and my cell phone. If necessary, I'll go that route again.

Yesterday I didn’t have a really good bootcamp day. I started off with Dance off the inches and it just wasn’t doing anything for me so I turned it off after 30 minutes. Then I put in the Yoga for Weight Loss and did 10 minutes and I gave up. I didn’t manage my veggies yesterday even. Very busy day at work but I am planning on getting them in today. I have been doing so well with them too.
I need to go back to the library and get the Ultimate Taebo back. I miss it!
Kat-I also didn’t click with the Firm-Maximum Bootcamp. Too slow and chatty. I had borrowed it from the library. That is one good thing about borrowing DVD’s from the library. You can try all of these DVD’s and see which ones you like.

yeah, it was a MAJOR yawn...
I was driving past Ross today, and it called my name, so I popped in to see what bargains they had in the video bin...
TONS of TaeBo videos in the $4.99 range. They had a bunch of different titles.
There were also some various yoga and pilates workouts, some 'Dance with Lisa' titles, and some FIRM videos, along with a 'core ball' workout that I've been wanting for awhile.
I also picked up Jillian's FrontSide for Beginners for $4.99.
They also had the Tamilee Webb Tight on Time 2 DVD pack for $4.99 (for BOTH videos!!)
Later today, I might pop into TJ Maxx to see what they have...

Kat i think half of my problems are 'unknown' no cysts anymore, no polyps, no fibroids, no lining built up, stress level down somewhat (who doesn't have stress of somekind?) hormones all within the lab normal range (prolactin is in normal for a female of childbearing whatever that means. i certainly after 15 betas over 3 weeks know i am not pregnant and my youngest are 9 and i am not breastfeeding them but i do lactate right before i start bleeding)
what exercise --of anykind even cleaning the house-- does is bring on a gush of bloody fluid that could be enough for about three full pads then i bleed daily and it stops two days later. they have not been able to figure it out. i am taking iron pills daily because it can be such a loss. my hgb level ranges anywhere from 5-15 so very low to normal. i know from when i had the twins i have pregnancy induced anemia and was told to take iron pills (otc) from a week before i started to 2 days after. when i started this bleeding crap in 2006, they bumped me up to 625mg iron 3x daily when bleeding so i take an awful awful lot of iron and it doesn't always keep my levels up.
when the iud comes in, i am asking her for a copy of my lab report so i can compare it with a normal females results (i hate that especially with hormones going crazy affecting us so much we have to have men in our normal count which raises some of our levels )

I am really struggling this week. First, I was PMS and then my foot started bothering me. I took a few days off to let it heal a little and then I found myself struggling to get back on track. I got my workouts in the past 2 days though. No matter what, I refuse to give up. I am just going to have to get over this slump/mental block and get back in the game. I know I can do it! And on a positive note, I went shopping the other day and I am a solid 8 now. And in some dresses I am even a 6! Yay. So even though I haven't lost any weight yet, I know I've changed the shape of my body. I measured myself the other day and in 3 weeks I've lost one inch off of my belly (the poochy part) and a half inch off of my waist. I need to use this as motivation to keep going!
I am really looking forward to moving on to Week 7!

I can't believe we are almost to week 7! Holy cow!
Sorry I haven't posted, been lurking and researching, and trying to keep up with the posts. Home life has been stressful, I swear, Im gonna punch DH if he doesn't quit complaining about college! (maybe I'll use him as my taebo target, LOL)
Went to the dr today to check all my bloodwork - all is good, bp 108/76 which is the lowest it's ever been and I weigh 274! A1C came back at 5.5 which is down from 5.9, cholesterol down 4 pts, glucose down 8 pts. Something's working!
Forcing those exercise rules and veggie rules. Somedays I make it and somedays I don't but start back the next day. Thank you for all the inspiration!!!!

That's awesome. Who needs the scale?!?!

Sounds like it! I bet your doctor was happy, too!

I'm heading out to get a haircut. I've been avoiding it since September. I usually have my hair short, but my double chin has had me avoiding the scissors. My face has thinned out since Bootcamp started, so I'll get it all chopped off tonight. Probably won't get any exercise in, though.

I got mine cut a couple of weeks ago...about 4 inches off. Happy haircut!!
Workout tally for the day:
30 min - Slim Series Express: Core Cardio
20 min - Outdoor interval walk/run (90 seconds walk/90 seconds sprint)
20 min - FIRM: Super Body Sculpt Upper & Lower Body weights
20 min - The Method: Core Ball (one of today's 'bargain' videos. I liked it)
10 min - Denise Austin: Mind Body Soul - the yoga segment (and I actually liked it!)
Total for the day: 100 minutes!!!

Yay! I'm sure it will turn our super cute. I always love getting a new do! In fact I just made an appointment this morning to chop mine off too. This morning I was thinking that I've been kind of "hiding behind my hair" since I gained weight a few years ago. I'm seriously considering chopping it off into a cute little just below the chin-length bob. I think it would be cute, plus it would be fun for summer and way more practical with how frequently I am working out now.

I'm contemplating the haircut issue myself.
Since I keep it long, I generally get it cut twice a year, just to keep the ends nice and give it a few layers. My last cut was right about New Year's, so it's getting to be that time again. Thing is, right now, mine is really long for me...the long layers are past the middle of my back! I love it, but it's a lot of work to keep it nice. (And, let's be honest, I don't always keep it nice. It's oftener than not in a pony tail or bun)
Anyway, enough off topic. I'll try to put pictures on my spark page with my hair down and then I'll ask opinions.
Yesterday's workout:
50 minutes elliptical
20 minutes swim
10 minutes yoga/stretching (on my own)
I plan something similar this afternoon, followed by cleaning and packing after dinner.
Later,
Tori
