South African Cysters Hi
I would like to ask if we can get our own section as well. I love talking to women from all over the world, but I find that the medications and the overall perception on PCOS is different in SA. Here you hardly ever hear about it - There's no books available, and only a bare minimum of sites to get fertility advice or items from such as a ovulation microscope etc... I think its so important that we raise awareness in our own country a bit.
In SA you never read a magazine article, or even hear about PCOS or endometriosis, but since I have been diagnosed,as soon as I mention PCOS, a friend or colleague also has it. We are dying to get more info over here. I think there is a enormous community of PCOS women in SA, and we simply don't know each other.
The average SA girl is brought up not to speak about "women's problems" - its just taboo. But I think we can help each other sooo much.
If you are out there let me know - English, Afrikaans, Xhosa, Zulu or even Chinese - we are all in SA and we are all facing this challenge, let me hear your voices! |
