Default South Beach Diet- Low Carb Diet (Need Help)

I went to the doctor the other day for my yearly exam. We were talking about my PCOS. She wants me to go on a South Beach Diet- Low Carb Diet. I don't know where to start. I look up South Beach Diet all the time and kind of get confused.

WIthin the last 2 weeks I have lower my portion size. If I just do that and eat the right food will I lose weight.

Does anyone have advice? I need help.

About a month ago I went to my G.P. and he recommended the South Beach diet, the one diet I haven't tried I was really scared and worried that I wouldn't be able to do it, but 5 weeks later I am 15lbs. lighter. I lost 10lbs. in the first two weeks. I have much more energy, and I can tell that my blood sugar stays much more level. I like it a lot and plan to continue it as a lifestyle. Give it a try. You will love the results after the first two weeks...it's very motivating and not all that difficult to stick with! Good luck!

SB diet is good, i lost 30 lbs on it a couple years ago. check out your local library, they should have the original or the new supercharged book, and there are lists in there of what food to eat and what to avoid during each phase. they helped me alot. also they will probably have a couple of the cookbooks. the party and holiday cookbook has some good snacks and stuff. easy to make stuff was pretty much what i stick with, so there are some things in there that aren't hard to make. i am trying to get back on it, i know i def will after i have the baby. i started on SB, and then went to atkins right before getting pg, trying to jump start the weight loss. so i will go to one of those.

but def check out your library, SB is hard to find anything on the internet b/c most of it's on their website where you pay to join, blah, blah, blah!

Thanks. I think I will go to the library tonight and check out some books on it. I looked on the internet and really don't get what I am reading . I think more research with be wonderful. I'm glad to hear that it is working for other people. I can't wait to start on it and start improving my life.

The best way to understand the diet is to read the book. It's pretty simple, but having the book lay each step out for you is the ideal way to learn it and cut down on errors.

If you like to cook, Kalyn's Kitchen has loads of South Beach friendly recipes and she identifies which phase of the diet each one fits into.

Pasta Queen
lost half her body weight on South Beach and her blog is very funny and interesting.

Best to ya! I love eating low carb.
