I recently started really looking at what I was eating and although I was not eating very badly and thought I was making good choices-cereal bars or slim fast bars/shakes for breakfast and lean cuisine at lunch-I soon realized some of those lean cuisines are 40+ g of carbs!-sneaky devils!!!lol
anyway, on my quest for simple, easy lunches, with higher protein, low fat, low carbs I have discovered South Beach salad and wrap kits-sold in the lunch meat section of your supermarket. Also the frozen teriyaki wraps are not bad.
the salads have 240-290 calories, about 6 g of fat, 6 g of fiber, 24 -29g of protein and 24 carbs-and include a small jello and pita chips
and to be so little, they are quite filling-you may want to try these...

I pick some of these up when they are on sale. I LOVE the wraps with the chicken and salsa. I think its Santa Fe or south west something or other but they are so good!! After eating one of the jello cups, I went out and bought a whole pack of sugar free jello. You'd never know it was sugar free! Yummy!!

Sarabara-where did you find the wraps with salsa-I looked at our local Wally World, but they only had the Sesame chicken, caesar, and club-i bought some of the caesar and club ones, but havent tried them yet.

my dr reccomended the book to me and i have found it really useful. it's not really a diet but more a way of life for those of us that are insulin resistant. i only have 10lb or so to loose so she suggested I start with phase 2 (bypassing the stricter phase 1) and other than missing some carbs, it's been easy enough to follow. though it takes a lot of planning to change how you eat.
