I'm looking for a good endo (but would go to a good OB/GYN who is willing to prescribe metformin) in Southeastern Michigan. I've been diagnosed for awhile, but am looking to take control of my symptoms now.
I'd prefer someone in the Beaumont network, but it is not necessary.
I am seeing a new doctor tommorrow through Beaumont. I will let you know if it goes well!! I have been searching for a good doctor who will actually do something for me as well so I am crossing my fingers.
I was just wondering if either of you ever found someone you were happy with. I am also in the SE MI area and would like to find an endo that specializes in PCOS.
I live near Detroit, but journey nearly 60 miles to see my RE. She recently opened her own office, and she & her small but dedicated staff seem so smart and unafraid to jump right into a real course of action. Previous doctors had me trying to conceive naturally for months on end, even though it wasn't going to happen. Anyway - she runs notoriously late for appointments (just a warning), but I think she's worth the wait. It's called The Gago Center for Fertility and her name is April Gago. I am going to go and see Carol Kowalczyk in Warren, mi She was the only one that took the St. John Smart plan. I am not sure if she is part of Beaumont.
But here is a site where you can pick your insurance and they will help you find a dr though beaumont. However, there is no RE choice.
Mandie, I tried to send you a message but apparently I still don't have enough posts to send private messages yet. So I wrote you a note and the site deleted - I was so frustrated ; ) Anyway, what I had written was that I grew up in Brighton, but moved to the Detroit area a few years ago when my hubby and I got hitched. I work in Canton and would love to move a little closer to where I work, and to my family in Hartland in the next year or so. Fingers crossed! New Hudson is a nice area! It's always nice to meet new friends here that are local ; )
I've got a friend's wedding to go to this weekend which should help distract me from my 2ww ; )

If y'all are willing to drive up to Grand Blanc (just south of Flint), Dr. Christopher Tykocki is the ABSOLUTE BEST! He's a Genesys doctor, OB/GYN but is oh so knowledgeable about PCOS! His number is 810-694-2720.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to live in Hartland but it is quite expensive. Yeah I work in Detroit. I am hoping to be able to transfer to Novi or to Brighton soon. Have fun at the wedding when is your test date?

I can sympathize on a crappy commute...esp with gas $ the way they are! I get my hormone levels checked this morning and the big test next Monday. I'm trying to stay optimistic without getting my hopes up too much...you know? Anyway, have a great day!

Thanks! Unfortunately my progesterone levels looked low today, so, I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high yet since that probably doesn't bode well for me. This is only my first Femara cycle...
