Default Soy Help?

I am thinking about taking Soy this cycle. I have read that you should start at 80 mgs. I have Nature's Way Soy Isoflavones.

This is what the back says...

Supplement Facts
Serving Size: 1 Capsule 1 Capsule
Servings per Container: 60

Amount Per Serving% Daily Value

Red Clover (stem, leaf, flower)140 Milligrams*

Non-GMO Soy Isoflavone dried extract (bean) 40% Isoflavones100 Milligrams*

*Daily value not established.

But, the front of the bottle says "40% potency."

Do you think I should start with just one pill?

Any guidance would be appreciated!

It should be 40mg of soy isoflavones, so I would take two... but I'm not sure about the Red Clover.

I take Now brand with JUST the soy isoflavones, and 120 mg works great...

Patience~ I take Soy Balance, 65mg. I think 80mg is a great starting dosage, so two pills for your brand. I got pg the first month I took Soy but had a miscarriage. I'm trying again this month! Good luck!

Thanks Ladies! I ended up doing 3 pills the first 2 days, and 4 the last 3 days! We'll see. Can't really hurt, right?

Just wondering if the soy worked for you. I've had a very long cycle and just started charting and taking soy this past week and for the first time ever I got a + OPK. I'm also taking fertilaid too, but was just wondering if it did work for you. I guess I'll know if a few more days.

I'm taking Soy this cycle too. I'm curious, what day did you get a + OPK? I wasn't planning on starting my OPK's until CD12.

I actually got my +OPK only 3 days after the last soy pill. I took 80mg of soy for 5 days. This cycle has lasted quite a few months so my chart isn't exactly right, but that could have something to do with it coming this soon. I'm just hoping that I actually do O...it'll be the first time in forever! My baby boy is turning 4 Sunday and we haven't used any birth control since he was born!!! I'm not sure it it's the soy or the fertilaid though...but it's one of them b/c I'm not on Met or any other meds.

I don't think I've O'd yet. I was going to temp this cycle, but my DS has been sick all week and I've been up in the night with him. I'm just trying to gauge off CM this time I guess.
What is fertilaid??

It looks like I didn't actually O and the OPKs are just staying light...so it's not actually positive. I changed my chart today, but it's good to know that some of the herbal stuff is doing something. I figure if I don't get regulated in some type of fashion by the time my 3 month supply runs up then I'll make an appt. with my doctor.

Fertilaid is just a herbal supplement that has vitex and some other stuff in it to help regulate your cycles.

Patience~ I think CM is the most reliable indicator of O. I haven't seen much of anything yet, and I'm on CD12, no positive OPK either. I hope Jack feels better soon. It is so hard having a sick little one!

Janeen: Yeah, I'm just monitoring my CM and position. If it happens, it happens...if not, it will when the time is right!

Rachell: Thanks for the info! Hope you O'd and caught the egg!

Can someone direct me to some info about using soy in the cycle? I have not heard about this. Any info appreciated. I might try this instead of clomid (over clomid).

Janaki - I'm doing the same thing. Once I start a new cycle my plan is to start with 80mg soy isoflavones (bought the Spring Valley Wal-mart brand) on CD 3-7. That's where I'm starting - I think. Unless anyone else has any other information.

I take nothing else and the ONLY other thing I've tried so far is taking BCP's for 2 months to try to regulate (which obviously did not help one bit). I think my OB/GYN's next step was to start Met, but I'm really trying to stay away from the drugs and do this a bit more natural. I didn't want to have to do anything at all, but it's been 13 months of trying and nothing. I think I actually only ovulated once in those 13 months, so...here I go onto something new.

I DO have a OB/GYN appt scheduled for mid-Nov. It's just an annual check-up, but we'll definitely talk about TTC as I never got back to her on how the BCP's worked (that was nearly 6 months ago or so), but I don't know if I'll start met even if she suggests it.

I think right now I'll just try soy for 1-3 cycles (depending on how it effects me, if I see any changes/improvements, etc) and if nothing good comes of it after a few times than I may just as for a referral to an RE.

Amanda - keep me posted on how it works for you. I have just started DCI and will wait for a decent AF before going with soy. I only o on 100mg of clomid so not sure how much soy to take might go for 80 also.
