Default Soy horror stories?

So, I've heard all the good about soy, but also want to hear all the bad before I decide to start to take it. Sounds like I'm being very pessimistic, but just want to see both sides. Right now, I ovulate on my own (my cycles are very long - 60+ days). I'm taking vitex and eating buckwheat farinetta. Thanks in advance!!

I have never heard of anything bad happening due to taking soy. I assume you mean as an "instead of clomid" thing, not just adding it to your diet or taking it daily? It basically either works or it doesn't. If it works, it makes you O - then either you get pregnant or you don't. If it doesn't work - you don't O. Never heard anyone have anything bad happen where they said "Man I shouldn't have taken soy."

There *is* evidence that soy is bad for thyroid and possibly for PCOS but others say this is a long term use thing, lots of soy in the diet - taking it for 5 days is not likely to have any such effects.

HOWEVER I have read it should not be used with vitex because it might not work - so you might want to stop the vitex for a while before using the soy.

According to several researches I have done over the internet It seems like Soy products are bad for your thyroid, I am Hypothyroid myself and i can tell u for sure without a doubt that soy makes my medicines not work to their maximun capacity.

I've also heard that soy is bad if you have a thyroid problem. I've also heard that you should not use it unless your going through menopause.

For some reason, my PCOS doesn't seem to like soy or any other photoestrogens, so I try to stay away from them. Whenever I eat a lot of ground flax, or edamame, my hair loss gets crazy.
