Default Are soy and soy lecithin the same thing?

I was just wondering if they do the same thing and whether you would take soy lecithin granules from cd 5 to 9 like the people taking soy do?

Please help!

No, they're not the same. Soy is used for the estrogenic effects of the isoflavones. I stopped consuming soy products a few months ago when I found out how bad it is for the thyroid (search google for soy and thyroid and you'll see what I mean). Soy lecithin contains omega-3 fatty acids, which are helpful for hormone balance. Lecithin isn't estrogenic so it can be taken any time during the cycle. However, google searches will also uncover bad reports on soy lecithin so it's probably best to find a better quality source of omega-3. My favorite is fish oil.
