Default Spearmint tea?

Hi all -

I'm going off the Pill soon (hopefully permanently), and I'm a bit worried about the dark hair on my face coming back, so I'm trying spearmint tea to combat it. Has anyone had success with this? If so, how much do you drink a day?

In terms of other symptoms, I've been doing really well with a hormone specialist who's gotten me off all prescription meds and onto herbal supplements. The Pill is the last to go. Unfortunately, she's so popular that it takes three weeks to get in to see her, so that's why I'm asking here!

Here's what I'm taking:

ALAmax CR for insulin resistance (works better than Glucophage for me)
Adrenavive and Thyrobalance to help the underlying thyroid problem, excellent in upping energy. It makes me WANT to work out, which is something of a miracle.
A mega dose of D and B
4 grams fish oil
Multivitamin

I will let you know how the spearmint tea regimen goes.. I just started drinking it (it is pretty delicious!) I try to drink 2 cups a day.. I think that is enough to make a difference? As for cycle regulation and hormonal issues, I am using natural progesterone cream.. just started that a few days ago as well. Good luck!!

Hey - thanks for responding!

I've been on the progesterone cream too (are you using ProjX?) and I can really recommend it. All of my PMS symptoms are gone, except the rampant mouth sores for some reason. I'll get that checked out.

I am using the Rexell brand (from Walmart). There was a big controversy on the other thread about it, but those who have used it haven't reported any adverse affects. I don't know if it is my diet or the progesterone cream, but I have been feeling great since I have used it! Still haven't got my period (its on the third day though), but I think I might be ovulating (I can usually tell when I am ovulating because when I look in the mirror, I feel good about my appearance.. I read that women feel better about how they look when ovulating, though I could be wrong). I am not TTC or anything, but I do want to regulate my cycle, which is the main reason I am using the NPC. The only negatives I have heard about people that use NPC have come from those with Estrogen Dominance, which is clearly not a problem with PCOS.

Edit: I have problems with mouth sores as well.. that is because of PCOS?

It's great that you feel better already!

And actually, when I started the cream I was extremely estrogen dominant. I believe she said it was from being on BCP so long, but either way it should help. I've just read of people taking too much and it building up where it shouldn't.

As for the mouth sores, I don't know if that's specifically PCOS, because my sister (who's healthy) gets a couple when she PMS's, or a cold, because most women experience a decreased immune system around that time. I would guess that it's just worse for us, though.
