Clary Sage (Salvia sclarea) originates from their organic and sustainable farms in Utah and France. The Clary Sage flowering tops are harvested at the precise time when all of their chemical constituents are highest, and then carefully steam distilled from flowering plant using low heat and a long distillation time to preserve all of the delicate properties of the essential oil.
The key constituents of Young Living’s Clary Sage are:
Linalyl Acetate (56-78%)
Linalol (7-24%)
Germacrene D (2-12%)
Sclareol (.4-3%)
Clary Sage ORAC score: 221,000 µTE/100g
Oils like clary sage and sage that contain sclerol, for example, have an estrogenic action. Essential oils also play a role in initiating the regeneration process for the plant, the same way the blood does in the human body. Recent medical data indicates that it naturally raises estrogen and progesterone levels.
Many women ages 40-plus have found that essential oils effectively combat PMS and menopause problems. Oils with estrogen-like activity include fennel, anise, clary sage, and sage. http://aromatherapy4u.wordpress.com/...ause-hormones/ www.naturallyherbs.com/articles/pms.shtml
Thanks for the info. I heard about the tea before being diagnosed with PCOS (this week!), but forgot about it. I get so confused by all the hormones and how they interact, that I'm not sure if it applies to me. Doctors aren't really helpful because they aren't knowledgeable about alternative medicine, and I can't afford the alternative ones! If I have high free testosterone, is the tea something that would help?
^Yes spearmint tea lowers test. levels, it should help.. what are your estrogen levels (in relation to prot. level)? Some women with PCOS have estrogen dominance, so excess may be converting to androgens.. If you have this I'm not sure if spearmint tea will help you.. but if your estrogen is fine and androgens are high then this should help.. White Peony & Saw Palmetto also lower androgens
i use clary sage essential oil when i'm having raging pms...it calms me down almost instantly! i either put a drop on my wrist or a few drops in a warm bath. i highly recommend clary sage if you have pms.

Hi,
do you think it may help regulate cycle too?
I had all sorts of hormonal tests and everything was fine, however I did saliva test my progesterone level was low,the doctors dont really acceptsaliva test as an accurate test ,
I don't get my period on time.somebody suggested me to try sage herb internally to regulate.I'm just affraid if it has more estrogen that progestrone.
I have used NPC and vitex and I'm kind of sensitive to both,my cystic acne get worse with vitex.
do you think sage would be good option foe me?
Goddess I so admire your contribution to the alternative remedies board!
Can you tell me whether you think that it Could it be said that if your period continues for more than 7 days with light spotting you have low estrogen? This was the issue for me before I conceived, before I started herbs and acupuncture. My period would spot on forever. It would take forever to ovulate.
The estrogen builds up again to stop menstrual bleeding right? Also if you feel depressed after your period comes and continues lightly....In any case I think estrogen supplementation with herbal remedies would help this....
Im on day 5 of my first post partum AF and I hope it stops normally....Taking peony and licorice , I think they also raise estrogen....
