Default Spiritual "Higher Power"

Hello one and all,

Question?

Even though I am Christian and should be praying to GOD first, I feel I'd like to search for a "HIGHER POWER" of another, not to replace "HIM" though.

I'd like to find something "spiritual"

I'm not familiar with any of these but I'm looking for a meditational mantra kind of group that can be my 'thing'

Something that can help you get in touch with your "true" self"!!

Any suggestions!!??????

How do I go about finding the right "fit" for "ME" ????????

..hope this all makes sense??

Janice

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you seeking a type of meditation? There are some great books out for Meditating on the Bible. What type of church do you go to? Some churches place less emphasis on "spiritual" things, so you may want to look at some other denominations. The Pentecostal church is more into "experience oriented" things than most other denominations. I'm not Pentecostal, but my Dad and FIL were raised Pentecostal. The church services (depending on the type of Pentecostal) are more experience oriented than other types. Have you considered speaking with one of your church leaders to see if they might have some suggestions? Maybe a study on the Holiness of God would help you see God in a different light. Some churches want to "put God in a box" and make Him so much less than He really is.

Often when Christians are seeking something, it's that they aren't being "fed" spiritually.

Meditation is a great way to feed spiritual hunger. Fasting is another, oddly enough. When combined, they can be a powerful force for connecting on a more "spiritual" level with God. There are lots of great resources out there. Find something that sounds like what you're looking for, and go for it.

I have also considered myself a Christian but wanted to find a more spiritual path as well. I have found our local Unity Church to be very fullfilling for me. I leave their services feeling more inspired and enlightened than I have felt elsewhere--I also keep that feeling for several days following the service when I do attend.

Janice~ I find putting in a really good worship cd and really giving that time to God and truelly praise and worship him can be very empowering. I think what you are looking for isn't a higher power because there is no other higher power than HIM!( AS A CHRISTIAN) It seems like you are seeking a more personal relationship with him. Where are you located and what kind of church do you attend? Wishing you lots of luck in your walk with God!

Hey sweetie,

It sounds like you've got some questions about your faith and you're not sure where to turn. I think that the ladies here have given you some wonderful advice, but I wonder if you were searching for a different answer.

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

By the way...one of the cysters here (in the Paganism thread) listed a site that talks about Druidry. On this site, there is a lot of information regarding the Christian faith as well (interestingly enough). Maybe check it out and see if it's what you're looking for.

The site is: www.druidry.org

There is a page on Christians who are also druids...

Good luck finding the inspiration that you're looking for.
