Default Spiro - Causing Breast Enlargement?

hi all,

has any of you noticed breast enlargement after being on either spironolactone or diane 35?

if yes, how long have you been on either one?

is it transient - does it go back to the normal size once your body has adjusted?

if not, then, how much have they gotten bigger by?

thanks,
bandanna

Hello

My bust size has gone up since I started Spiro May 2001. Now my bust is 44D, and it was a bit smaller before.

I've been on Aldactone for over 12 years and still have small boobs I have to wear a padded demi cup because my breasts are too small. I wish Aldactone would make my breasts grow! I've been overweight forever (since the age of 9 ) but have always had small boobs.

hi serena,

you've posted in another forum that after taking aldactone, your excess hairs are now all gone. may i ask how long after taking aldactone did you notice the effect on the hairs? and did you have to mechanically take them out - the ones on your back, abs, arms etc?

also, i read that child birth could result in telogen effluvium - shedding of hair. could it be that the body hair loss that you experienced is caused by childbirth?

i am wondering b/c i am on aldactone and am hoping very much that it'll make my unwanted hair disappear.

thanks for your input!

Hi Bandanna,

You posted me privately and I've already replied, but for the benefit of anyone else, here is my story: I didn't hear about Aldactone until after the birth of my first son (after 3 years of treatments) I went on Aldactone, saw some improvement in about 2-3 months. I started having very long periods (8
weeks) and at that time they didn't realize it was due to the Aldactone (so had a D&C) All this happened when I'd been on it almost a year, and then I decided to return to the Ovulation Induction Program to try again. So I went off Aldactone. I fell pregnant after 2 cycles, so pretty quickly. The hair returned with a vengeance! It was worse than before on my back, upper
arms and face. So once the twins were born, I went back on Aldactone and the pill this time, as at this stage they'd worked out that Aldactone can play havoc with your periods (which is quite logical...if it plays with our hormones)

So, for me, being pregnant did NOT help with the hair situation at all. I have read where *normal* (and I use the term loosely) women also develop more hair while pregnant. Of course, that was me and you might be different.

And my hair didn't fall out in clumps, it sort of thinned out and became finer and less noticeable until one day it seemed to be what is considered *normal*.

Hope this helps.
