Spiro Causing Hairloss?

Hi all;
I've been put on spiro to manage hair growth and am noticing my hair falling out in handfuls (from my head!). My dr says no way, no how could this be caused by the spiro...I'm having trouble believing this.

Anyone had this happen?

How long have you been on the spiro? I've heard both that spiro can cause shedding in the begining that should subside later and that it can cause hair loss (even though it's supposed to stop it)... Did you have thinning hair issues prior to starting spiro? how long have you been on the medication? what dosage are you on? have you added any other medications? what other medications/supplements are you taking, maybe their interfering with the spiro?

That's very interesting, b/c I was losing hair like that in the first place (I loss about 1/2 of the thickness of my hair w/in a year), and he put me on sprio to stop it. I haven't really noticed any difference, I'm still losing a lot of hair and my hair just seems different now. I am interested to see what you find out!
