Question Spiro elevates Cortisol levels????

I was reading a post in the UK forum and someone had posted that Birmingham University were conducting a study into PCOS. As it is only 30 miles away from me I sent an e-mail to ask whether they were looking for participants.

Anyway, I received a reply saying the study is looking into how high Cortisol levels could be causing PCOS. This then lead me to do a search on Cortisol.... the "stress" hormone that causes irregular periods, facial hair, elevated testosterone levels, abdominal fat in women who have elevated levels and causes Cushings Syndrome.

In the thread it stated certain medicatons, including Spiro, cause elevated Cortisol levels?

I have never taken spiro but was considering it for the hair thinning problem!

So my question is, has anyone who is taking Spiro found their weight gain around the middle increased? Do you think this is true in your experience, of elevated stress hormone???
