Spiro making your throat/mouth dry and frequent urination
My Spiro has been making my throat and mouth really dry and it doesn't matter how many times I drink water, it still stays dry. All the water does is cause bloat and frequent urination which is really annoying, inconvenient, and embarrassing. Does anyone else have these side effects and if you did, did they ever go away or is it pretty permanent?
Spiro is, among other things, a diuretic - that would explain your symptoms. I have that to a certain degree as well, but usually I have more of a problem with retaining water in my body (especially my knees ... ouch), so I am happy for any help by meds to get rid of it. If my mouth is a little dry sometimes, so be it. But that's just me, of course. I don't know if the body gets used to it after a while? I have been on Spiro since December and it hasn't been too bad...

I've never experienced dry mouth or throat, though it is listed as a potential side effect.
Lack of salivation in the mouth can be really bad for your teeth, so it's definitely something you'll want to address. Does it help if you chew on gum or suck on a hard candy?
It sounds like you could be experiencing actual dehydration. In addition to drinking the water, you may want to add in some Gatorade or Pedialite which will help to replenish and retain your fluids and also your electrolytes.

The mention of the knee caught my eye.
I have been having major problems with my left knee ever since a very active DDR session. I've had similar problems with it before and it usually goes away within a few days, but three weeks later and it still bothers.
It snaps in and out constantly, so sometimes I'm limping and sometimes I'm not. The knee cap is squeaky, almost audibly, when I press down on it. I often have a pulling/ripping sensation going on in it, and at times it feels squishy like there is some liquid in there.

If anybody does experience dry mouth, be sure to stay well hydrated. Also, ask your dentist about a prescription strength fluoride. There are also products you can get at most drugstores, a line called biotene. Dry mouth can lead to rampant decay. If you do chew on gum/candy be absolutely sure it's sugarfree.

I noticed that when I took spiro I was exceptionally thirsty and was constantly bloated and running to the bathroom. I think I was on 100 mg. It was so bad I decided I would never take it again.
It gives me dry mouth, and I drink water constantly. I've never had a problem with bloating. Have you been taking it long? It does seem to get better after several months. Watch the sodium in your diet. It will make you retain more water and urinate more frequently on the Spiro. Things like chips, deli meats, hot dogs, frozen dinners canned veggies, and pickles are full of salt that we don't even think about when we eat.
Some people considering urinating every two hours or so as frequent, but it's really much better for your bladder and urinary tract if you go more often.
Gatorade has 110mg of sodium. That's not horrible, but 100 X more than water and 3.5 X more than soda. It also has 30mg postassium. People on Spiro are supposed to be careful not to take in extra potassium because it is a postassium sparing diuretic - meaning it leaves potassium in your body. Now 1% of your daily allowance of potassium should not make a difference, but do be careful about drinking too much Gatorade.
The thing is, I have low potassium and that's one of the reasons why I'm taking Spiro. I take it for my hair, skin, and potassium, so if my potassium is risen, it will not get too high.
