Spiro is a potassium sparing drug, which means it keeps potassium from leaving your body. If one has to much potassium (which is an electrolyte...like salt) it can effect the rhythm of the heart and could cause damage. So usually when on Spiro its wise to avoid high potassium foods, expecially if you are on Yasmin as well, which is also potassium sparing. Talk to your doc about it if you are worried about it. GL!
Oh, I forgot I would avoid it if you are TCCing because it can cause severe birth defects in male fetuses. Definitly talk to your doc...
