Default Spiro question

I just started Spiro a little over a week ago. I took 50 mg for the first week and now have started 100 mg. My dr. prescribed it when after 2 months of being on actosplus met, I noticed dark spots appearing on my hands, my hair started falling out more, and my skin got bad again.

Anyway, since I started taking it I am up 3-5 times a night going to the bathroom. Does this ever stop? I'm exhausted. A lot of the time I wake up and then can't easily fall back asleep. I just can't keep enough fluid in my body, I feel so dried out all of the time. I have never had such a dry mouth. Does any of this get better over time?

I love the fact that my skin has already cleared up, but if I can't get a decent night's sleep soon I will have to stop taking it.

Make sure you take it in the morning! Stay hydrated throughout the day (drink lots of water), and watch your sodium. If you eat foods high in sodium, you body retains more fluid, and a diuretic will make you go much more often. Stop drinking liquids about 2 hours before bed. Don't drink any caffeine at dinner because it is also a diuretic.

My mouth is usually dry about an hour or two after I take it. In the morning I have to pee every 2 - 3 hours, but after lunch, I don't have to go as often. I can usually make it through the night unless something wakes me up. I drink water constantly, or I get foot and leg cramps on Spiro. I drink at least 100 oz per day.

Do you take it all at once? When I started, I took 25 mg a day and worked my way up to 50 mg twice a day. If you take it all at once, see if you can try spreading it out. I take it once when I get up and then about 12 hours later. I don't notice myself having to go to the bathroom much more than usual. Make sure you are getting plenty of water. This should help with the dehydration.

I'm currently taking 100 mg. every morning. I'll try spreading it out and see if that helps. Right now, the days are fine, but the nights are just awful!
