Default spiro questions

My doctor put me on Sprio about 2 days ago. I have thankfully noticed no ill side effects but I was curious if anyone had seen any possitive results from the diuretic affect?? I hold tons of fluid and I can't eat any salt and was wondering if anyone found it helped water weight.

Also what about the irregular periods. I am finally having normal periods thanks to the met but I don't want them to go away again. How common is this??

thanks

hi

I've been on Spiro about 5 years. It did make my af go funny at first - every 3 or so weeks, but after awhile it went back to my normal.

My endo said that it takes 9 - 12 months to get to maximum result.

Being it is a diuretic, my experience on spiro is that it will help with water retention. Make sure to drink a lot of water, as this also helps. In fact, if you are dehydrated your body will hold on to water...so make sure to drink. Combo of spiro and water have helped me with getting rid of any extra water my body may be holding in.

I'm on Spiro, 100 MG twice a day. I just started it at the end of august. I go to school out in Utah, but am from Indiana, where I spent my holidays. When I came home, quite a few people told me my hair is starting to look better, and that you can see a difference on my scalp and that there is "peach fuzz" growing. Even my grandma said it looked better, and she's been the one making the most comments over the past few years when I had no idea what was causing the loss. For me it's hard to notice, but I do trust them, especially since so many people said something and they hadn't seen me since July. As for the water, I found when I first started it, that I had to pee ALL the time, and still pee more than I used to. I drink a lot of water when I'm in utah due to the dry heat anyhow, so I think the spiro has been really nice and even pushes me to have to drink more. As for my period, I was having it every two weeks, because i hadn't received my birth control at that point, but now i'm on ovcon 35 w/ the spiro, and that regulated my periods.
