Default No bad side effects for me...

I have been taking Spironolactone since I was diagnosed with PCOS in January. I take it in addition to Yasmin which as 25 mg of spiro in it as well. I am currently taking 50 mg of the spiro twice a day. I think it has helped. I know it is still soon to see major effects, it takes about six months. However, I don't feel as if I need to use Nair on my face as much. I also don't shave my legs as often (maybe TMI). I haven't had any adverse side effects to it. When I first started taking it I did feel a little nauseas, but I don't know if it was becasue of the Spiro, the Yasmin or both. In any case it went away after the first few days. Even though I am drinking a lot more water, I don't notice myself having to pee any more than usual. Since Spiro is a diaretic this was something I was concerned about. I am a kindergarten teacher and cannot leave my kids alone to go to the bathroom. It is also a potassium sparing diaretic, however, my doctor told me all that really means is that I shouldn't take a potassium supplement. I can still have bananas, orange juice, and other foods high in potassium. Your doctor will probably want to check your potassium levels after a couple of months just to check and make sure you don't have too much potoassium in your blood levels. Well I hope that helps. While I am not an expert, let me know if you have any questions and I will try to answer them.

hi
ive been on spiro about 6 years. My endo said that it takes 9-12 months to get to maximum result AT first it made my periods strange - every 3 weeks or so, but now they have settled down to my normal.
