Points: 713.13 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 713.13 | Spironolactone and bleeding Hi everyone,
I've been taking 100 mg of spiro once a day for about a month. It was about a couple of weekds after I started taking spiro that I got AF. Now I just started AF again, and it's only been 21 days since AF last came.
Before taking spiro, AF was coming only about every 3 to 4 months. Now suddenly AF came twice in a month!
Anyone else have this happen? MY gyn told me to wait till AF comes next time to start BCP. Should I start it now and will the BCP help with this weird bleeding? Or will it correct itself? Please help! |

I think having a period every 21 - 35 days is considered normal. I am on Spiro and mine come every 21 days like clockwork on Monday. However, I am definitely in perimenopause and periods tend to come closer together as you near menopause. I would hate to give Spiro up because I don't have cramps when I am on it. I have bad cramps and other unpleasant physical reactions when I am not on it. I'm pretty sure I'm ovulating because almost as soon as my period ends, I get breast tenderness that lasts until my next period starts. |

After that, I had a period once every 2 weeks. I had to stop taking that after 2 months and haven't had another period since without taking Provera.

My Mood: Points: 628.55 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 628.55 | I take 100mg spiro a day since May 30th and had AF within the second week of taking it. I feel like I am going to start again any day. Before I started the meds, I would go 7 months or so without AF. Hopefully it will become normal! Tommorrow will make 21 days so we will see...... |
