Unhappy Spironolactone side effects

Hey everybody...

I just started Spiro a few days ago and am sweating like a pig and get drowsy at work. Does anybody else experience the same thing on Spiro? I just got back into my exercise regime so at first I thought that it was just because I was out of shape. But when I went shopping today at the mall I found myself sweating more than I usually do. Maybe I am just overreacting and need to give the medication a little time to get into my system. The pharmacist told me that spiro was a "fluid pill". I asked him to explain to me how it works as an anti-androgen and he was like "huh?" So I'm turning to my Cysters for feedback..

Thanks

That happened to me too. I wasnt sure if it was the Met or the Spiro as I started them close together. It doesnt happen now. I have been on it for over a month. It was really bad in the beginning. I had to buy men's deo. I would start sweating awful just sitting at work. It was awful. I sure didnt smell very good. But like I said it is much better now.

Thanks for the feedback, and congratulations Dmp005 on your weight loss!

I'm glad to know that the sweating not going to last for the entire time that I'm on spiro and that it will taper off after a while. Since I'm already overweight, sweating doesn't help matters.. people already have the stereotype that overweight people are always out of breath, sweatty, and stinky. I really resent that because I didn't sweat this much until I started taking spiro. Like you guys I always try to keep extra deodorant in my purse. I always go out of my way to put on lots of Deo and strong lotions from Bath and Bodyworks.

So have you all noticed any changes in body hair since you've been on spiro and aldactone? Shaving everyday is such a drag.

I notice I dont have as many 'chin hairs'. My mustache has stayed the same. I think my mustache is noticable, but I have had my beautican and family members check it out for me and all have said they cant see anything unless they get right up next to my face, and even then they cant see it. I am just paranoid. I think Sprino has helped me a lot. I figure I can stand to pluck once every couple of weeks, and as long as my mustache doesnt get any darker then I am happy. Granted, I would love to look like a 'normal' woman.
