Hi there,

I've been taking Dianette for years now, since I was a teenager with really spotty skin - all over my back, chest and face. It cleared it up completely within a few months.

However I've recently started getting a different sort of acne. It started with a few angry spots near my mouth, which the doctor diagnosed as some sort of dermatitis, and gave me antibiotics for. Now they've gone, but now I have raised bumps across both cheeks and all around my jaw line. I also have a few on my chest.

They're not inflamed, but they occasionally get red, and I'm very conscious of them.

Has anyone had this? Do you have any suggestions for how to deal with them?

sry bout the new spots the places you described are typical for pcos. whenever i have spots they´re right there.

before i was diagnosed with pcos my skin doc would prescribe me oral antibiotics which didn´t help at all. the topical antibiotics cream did help well, though. it was only until i went on bcp the spots were gone.

so i would recommend you to see your gyn and have your hormone levels tested to see if it is pcos-related. maybe you need additional androgens along with dianette.

could also be that your system has adjusted to dianette and that you should try another brand. i changed brands every other year as well.
