Default Spotting

I was hoping someone could give me a little insight. I'm 26 and I was diagnosed with PCOS last year and my endo put me on met-formin and novo-spiroton. I haven't been able to stay on the medication consistently because they really upset my stomach. For the last 3 months I have been taking the pills regularly, but I this last month I increased the dose from 500mg a day to 1000 mg (which was what my doctor originally prescribed). The problem is, I have been spotting this entire month, non-stop and I haven't even gotten a regular period. I was getting regular period before I increased the dose and I have had occassionable spotting before on the medication but nothing like this. I just wanted to know if anyone else has dealt with this. And what I should do?

Thanks for any help!

I am having the same problem as we speak. I have been on metformin for over three months. I just had my period at the beginning of the month. Now i am having spotting or another very light period. I heard it takes sometime to become adjusted but i dont think i like the extra bleeding.
Maybe someone else has a little more insight for us.
Good luck to you!

Soemtimmes becasue the lining gets thick from irregular on non-exsitant cycles and you can get spotting. Also, in the middle of a cycle it can be a sign of ovulation but, I doubt if you have been spotting for so long, it is that.
There are instances where it can be something else, as well. I would definitely talk to your doc if it is not resolving itself to make sure it isn't something like an infection.

All the Best,
Ashley
