Default Spotting on BCPs - PCOS related cause?

I was on Alesse for years and years. No spotting. Then I went off bcps for a year and was diagnosed with PCOS. Started on Met. Now back on bcps and this time I'm spotting while on them. Any idea if Met may cause this? Or general hormonal changes between now and the last time I was on bcps? This is my 3rd cycle of the pills.

Probably just your body changing over time, or the BCP. Is it spotting before/during/after your AF, or is it more like BTB? Different brands of BCPs can cause all sorts of spotting/AF issues so it could just be going from Alesse to something different.

The bcp's I'm back on are Alesse, again. So it would have to mean my body has changed. The spotting has happened the same time for the past 3 cycles - it lasts exactly 1 week before AF comes.

Do you still get a regular period when you are taking your week of reminder pills? I had a situation that I would bleed my second week of hormones and then have nothing my week of reminder pills. I had to switch around what week I was starting on, because apparently my body decided when it was going to have a cycle.

I was on Diane/Estelle for a few years then out of the blue started spotting and having terrible cramps. I changed to Norimin and I'm back to normal.

Erin- I still do get my period on my placebo pills. I just spot 6 days into the period.

Feb- good to know I'm not alone in suddenly responding differently to my bcps! I'll call the Dr. today.

I started taking seasonique about a month and a half ago...and everything was fine until about the time that I *usually* get my period (seasonique is one of those 4-month pills). I basically got a very light period and ever since I have been spotting NONSTOP! Really gross gooey brown spotting too! (TMI I'm sorry) This has been happening for about 2-3 weeks. Besides that, I have no symptoms...except maybe only occasional very mild cramps.

Should I call my gyno? or is this not a big deal?
