Exclamation spotting for a week now and going nuts!

This has never happened to me before while being on BC, I started taking YAZ a month and a half ago, I didn't get a period when I finished my first pack, and a week and a half into it I started spotting and it got a little heavier than spotting a few times, well I had my follow up with my RE and he told me he wanted to switch me to Yasmin because it has more estrogen in it so it should make the spotting stop, and I started taking it 3 days ago and I am still spotting! Has this happened to anyone and if so how long did it take for the spotting to stop?

well it has been two weeks now and I decided to call the nurse, she told me to stop taking them for 3 days so that I can bleed, and then start taking them again, I hope it works.

Your doc may have jumped the gun. Everything I've ever heard says unless it's an emergency, you should give a BCP 3 months.

I spotted for 3 weeks STRAIGHT when I started Yaz. When it stopped, I dropped into a perfect 28 day cycle with 3-5 day periods, and no negative side effects at ALL. I can't believe he switched you so quickly. The doc and nurse are definitely giving the opposite advice that my docs and nurses gave. Who knows.

Of course the game is rigged. Don't let that stop you--if you don't play, you can't win.

Ditto. I've always heard the 3 month 'rule' too.

Well the spotting still hasn't stopped, so I think I shouldn't have switched either except that the Yasmin is a lot cheaper.
