Default Spray Tan & Laser Hair Removal

Hey all

I have had one laser appointment so far (like 6-8 weeks ago) and I am going for another Thursday. Because I can't tan when I get the laser done I have gone twice to get spray tans....but can I get another one this weekend(friday) if I have the laser done on Thursday or will it react? (FYI I am getting laser done on my face/neck/chin etc)

Oh and does anyone know...the last time after my laser appointment, a few days later I started breaking out a lot. Is there a reason why? I didn't really notice any change in the hair yet so I am hoping appointment #2 helps.

I had breakout after my first one, but not so much after my 2nd. My skin also got realllllly dry after the 1st, but not with the 2nd. I did notice more results after the 2nd. As far as the tanning, I don't have an answer.

Anything you do to change the pigment of your skin is off limits. The laser targets the dark pigment, which is why they won't treat tanned skin. There are lasers called Yag which can be used on darker skin, but in studies they are shown to be less effective. When I first started my skin was still darker from years of tanning (see my profile pic from last year) and they used Yag for my first treatment. It didn't work so well, and luckily by staying out of the sun, I was able to start on the Gentlelase machine, which is better for lighter skin and darker hair.

Hope that helps.

As for breakouts, I don't have that experience. My next treatment is tomorrow actually...

Best,
Casy

Thanks for the info...so I am wondering if I should cancel my appointment for Thursday and wait until next week when the spray tan should be gone?

I'd call the tech, who will be able to evaluate the situation. I've never had a spray tan. Sounds like an instant solution, though! Cool.

Good luck.
