My Mood: Points: 1,483.45 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,483.45 | I was on Lexapro for 2+ years and It worked great. Now looking back when my PCOC symptoms got really bad my doctor switched me to Effexor XR that has seemed to help as long as I don't have a period. When my period starts nothing helps, my emotions are all over the place rage, sadness, anger, deep depression, even suicidal.

When I finally decided to come off of it, the withdrawl symptoms were awful. I will never take one again. What has really helped me, is finding other ways to deal with my anxiety. If you can find a counselor or psycholigist, that may be one way to go. I was never able to do that, because I could never find anybody who wasn't more of a fruitcake than I am. (Not saying you are a fruitcake, I just find it easy to deal with things if I make inappropriate jokes about myself and my problems. I have read some books, and I can now deal with my anxiety on my own without pills, most of the time. Quote:

I had horrible mood swings during my period. I am surprised I have any friends left! Once I started taking a BCP, my mood swings decreased greatly.

My mood swings are still here sometimes though LOL |
