Default the stache

ok I hate the stache. it sucks so bad. I can't pluck it cuz I plucked a few hairs and they grew back black (they were originally just an unoffensive blonde/brown) err how annoying. so now I have to use a cream to get rid of it.

well my question is how you girls deal with staches. I basically just use a cream every 2 weeks to get rid of it. the thing grows in really slowly so that's good! Any tips on getting rid of my moustache would help. OMG I feel like such a freak talking about facial hair. UGH I hate it!

I know how you feel!! I hate talking about facial hair too!! I always shave mine in the shower (very softly..I dont dare press hard I already have acne I dont need razor burn too!!) And I use a moisturizer every morning and night. Since I have been taking all my supplements (Listed in my signature) I have seen less and less hair growth!! I really wish I could help you some more with that but all I know to do is shave it....I was waxing but you have to let it grow in first before it can be waxed off!!

Hi in respond to the post on excessive hair for those of you that shave their hair. I don't recomend the shaving, it will only make you hair grow back thicker and courser. I have had PCOS for 15 or more years I have all of the symtoms with the exception of the acne. I have a beard and scare tissue wear the hair grows on my chin and face. I have to wear make-up everyday all day. When I go out in public some people thick I am a man. This hurts my feeling so much and I try to avoid leaving the house unless it is absolutely necassary. I known use a diplitory called Marzena. It is the best I have every used (believe me I have use them all). It will take most if not all of the hair off.

Does anyone know anything regarding scare tissue and can it be reversed?

I have also had problems with hair on my face. I tried everything...plucking, shaving, electrolosis...the only thing that has helped has been laser hair removal. I have done it 6 times everywhere on my face except the stache...It worked great!!! (quite costly, though). My stache is only blonde, so what works best for me there is Vaniqa. The hair definitely grows in slower, and thins out after a few months of use.

hi bassethounds,

did laser completely remove your hair? were they dark or light - the ones that were treated effectively by laser.

thanks.

Smile wax!

For the stache I would FOR SURE wax! There's nothing better than having a nice smooth uper lip for about a week (before it starts to come back in) I loove how I look right after. I also have my chin waxed and my eyebrows -- about every three weeks.

But, I have a consult in two weeks to find out about laser. So, if anyone knows about that I'd love to hear!

My nightly ritual...Plucking plucking and more plucking. About 7 years ago someone had said something about my hair growth and it crushed me...so I started shaving it. Big mistake. It grew back coarse and dark. I have always had a mustache. I think it is the Latin in me. It got worse with the PCOS after my first daugter was born. Now I pluck everynight. It takes about 1 hour. 3 different pluckers for all the different sizes of hair. I used Vaniqua it is quite exspensive and my insurance does not cover it. Then after using it I could not pluck anymore. The hairs that grew back were really rooted. I tried electrolosis, pretty costly and painful. I have been thinking about laser. Maybe I will check into that. How much does something like that cost. I know that it will be different depending what area your in, but what is the average cost..???

hi bandanna,

the hair that the laser was able to get was all dark and coarse. the laser did not remove all the hair, but i've gone from shaving my chin and jawline once a day (and still having a five o'clock shadow) to shaving about once a week with just very fine and light regrowth. I also recomment waxing for the stache, mine is fine light hair, so it wouldn't have helped to laser it.

my dermatologist said that dark coarse hair and fair skin (both me) is the best combination. the way it works is the laser energy is absorbed by the pigment, melanin, in the hair and destroys the hair follicle....the more pigment the hair has the better. well, at least for this procedure

hope this helps

Megan

Default Waxing

I get waxed at a salon. The hair seems to grow in the same (not thicker, yet not thinner). I go and get my upper lip or `stache done at the same time as my eyebrows. As for my chin hairs, I am in front of the mirror every morning after my shower and pluck them or any new ones sprouting.

The lady who I go to at the salon charges me $8 for my upper lip and $8 for my brows. It was really painful when I started but seeing as I have been going for so long I am used to it. She puts this cream on afterward that lessens the redness, which usually goes down after a few hours.

I would recommend waxing to you. It lasts me 4 weeks and if a hair starts poking out before the 4 weeks are up, I pluck it.

I have dark hair and bleach my stash and when it gets too thick I
wax it . the little plastic strips with the was already on it works the best for me. I might try a salon as on ocassion I have bruised myself. (did not get any of those grad pictures)

I have always used a combination of plucking everyday and bleaching every week. I got a mix of coarse hairs that I plucked and regular hairs that I bleached. Now with controlling my insulin and using saw palmetto, I only have to pluck a few hairs once a week and I cannot even remember the last time I bleached.
