i was wondering if any of you have experienced sharp pains in your stoamch because i've recently been dx and have had sharp pains in my stomach for months
Could it be cysts on your ovaries? I have never had a big one (tons of small ones) but have heard they hurt.

Are the pains in your lower stomache area.. cause when I hear stomache I think three things ... you're actual stomache, your digestive system, and your lower stomache where all your reproductive parts are! I know I am making it complicated... but it could be that you are forming an ulcer if its in your actual stomach.. could be digestive problems or many other things if its in your digestive area, or cyst UTI or many other things if its in your reproductive area.
Yes, I have very sharp pains in my stomach to. It hurts really bad, so bad sometimes I can't move. I also have a lot of pressure on my stomach. Like I said I went to the doctor Thursday for the blood tests and they said they will let me know the results in 7 to 10 days but, rading this board and seeing all of the people who have posted their symptoms, I am pretty sure it is going to be positive. I am a little nervous and scared.
Thanks for all the information you girls give.
Heather

I hope this helps. I have had a large ovarian cyst in the past and have also experienced a stomach ulcer too.
With the cyst, it is regular sharp pains in the area where your ovaries are (find your hip bone, each ovary is in front of here towards your pubic bone) plus a constant dull ache. Your whole lower abdomen may swell up (I ended up looking about 8 months pg!) and you may feel nauseous and get a sharp pain on taking a step as you walk. This pain can occur on either side, depending on which ovary tries to release an egg.
With a stomach ulcer, you get a burning sensation in line with your lowest rib, which feels raw inside and can make you feel sick. This is usually relieved by eating something regularly. Usually a course of antibiotics can help to clear it up and an endoscopy may be required to confirm diagnosis. This is a simple procedure where they put a small camera down your throat into your stomach and take pictures. You can choose to be sedated for this (it doesn't hurt but can make you retch) and it only takes about 30 seconds, so it is all over very quickly.
The other possibility is that if you are getting these pains on a regular basis i.e. every month or in time with your cycle, it may be that you are ovulating or trying to release an egg but small cysts may be forming which can cause pain too.
Hope you feel better soon. Any pain which goes on for a long period of time should be investigated to rule out something more dangerous such as appendicitis.
