Ugh! I hate when people stare! I'm already very self conscience of my 5:00 shadow.
What do you do when you are having a conversation with someone, could be someone that knows about your pcos or someone totally new. You know they are staring... you see their eyes drop that 4 inches and stare at your jaw line. You then see a look on their face kind of saying... is there hair growing there, can I see that? UGH!
This just recently happened to me and this person does not know about my pcos its someone our company just hired and we work side by side, ok now I'm very self conscience around her and feel like a freak!! Ok even more like a freak.
Anyone else experience this? What did you do to feel better about yourself? The day it happened i ran to the ladies with my shaver and shaved again!
UGH!

I know how you feel. I have a beard when I don't shave and even when I do I feel like people can tell because the hair has been getting darker and coarser. I literally have to shave everyday ! I thought about getting it waxed but I'm too embarrassed to let it grow out enough to get it done.
I can so relate, and I know exactly how you feel. Thank god I have great friends and family that I surround myself with, so when I do feel embarassed and down about it, I try to boost up my spirits with the people that love me and care.
I finally saved up money to get laser hair removal done. And since then I have been so much more happier, and rarely shave anymore. I actually only get little fuzzies now, but no more thick black hair. My case was pretty bad. Also, if you didn't know this, some laser places will really knock down the price for you per treatment, if you do let them know about your condition. The big retail places don't seem to care, but if you go to smaller, private businesses, they are more likely to understand and help you out.
Good luck! And don't let people's stares get to you. You know you are more than that. And that is all you need to worry about.
Frankly, I ignore any stares. I've been working with the same people for 6 years, and no one has ever said anything (and I've never seen any looks of disgust). I'm confident enough in my job (if no where else in my life) that I don't care what coworkers might say or think. My friends might look down and see the shadow, but then they look right up and there's no disgust or judgement there (that's why they're my friends!). It will get easier to deal with in time, I've been dealing with this for half my life now.
