Hi- just diagnosed two weeks ago... last period was jump started with Provera, and when I missed this period (due last week), I called doc about jump starting again. Rather than Provera, she has prescribed Prometrium (as a more natural alternative). I will be taking it on a monthly basis, and she asked me to return for a checkup in 3-4 months.

What should I expect/watch out for with Prometrium? Side effects?

Does anyone have any stories about the relation of taking Prometrium and when they got pregnant? I am not focused on getting pregnant right now (not ready to start Clomid- got pregnant w/o it last time), so I want to try regulating my cycles first and see what happens. Can regulating my period cycle affect my ovulation? Since I am just dxed, I haven't really paid attention to how and when this all may be happening. I know I am not having a period, so I know that I am not ovulating right now. But, conversely, how can I tell if I am ovulating if I am having a period?

Kim- Sorry I do not have much of an answer for you. I took prometrium- I believe it was for 12 days or until your period starts. I had no luck. It did not bring on AF for me.

As far as I understand it, you can O with out AF and you can also have Af without O'ing. So as far as I know it would be possible for you to be O'ing even without AF. This whole thing is still very confusing to me too!! Hope this helps a little Niki
