Question Started Avandia…what to expect?

Hi!
I took my first Avandia (4mg) yesterday. I’m not sure at all what to expect from this drug. There sure isn’t as much research material as there is with Met is there….
If anyone has been on it for a bit can you tell me what to expect? How are you feeling? What time of day do you take it? My doc doesn’t know much about it and is using me as a guinea pig. How comforting!

Thanks!

Hello there,

I started taking it about 3 weeks ago...the only (and I mean ONLY) side affect I've had is a bit of water retention...I'm hoping it will bring back my cycles...although I've never cycled on my own..what's your story? TTC? Tried anything before this? Check out this thread I started not too long ago...

Questions for those on actos or avandia?!

Good luck, and if you want to keep in touch with me, that'd be great...

My story is pretty simple really
Not yet TTC, just want to feel better.
I was on Met for 7 months and felt amazing for about 1 of those months. The rest of the time was awful. The side effects were so bad that I was only leaving the house to go to work and get groceries. It wasn't must of a life!
I have about 30 pounds to lose and I REALLY ned to get some energy back. I know that if I feel better I'll be able to exercise more and get the weight off. It's just the feeling part part that I'm stuck on. Hopefully my sugars will stabilize, that'd be a start!

I have no idea what my cycles are doing because I'm on the pill. We'll see i guess.

What time of day do you take your Avandia?

I take mine in the morning, but I'm going to try it at night to see how it affects the hands swelling. Let me know how it goes for you
