I started on 1000mg of met and i can tell you that if you eat the right foods you will be ok but if you eat greasy, junk food you better stay close to the bathroom. i have been on met for over a year now and s/e are gone unless i binge on junk food.....

OK, so now I think I know why woman loose weight on met. You feel so sick you can't eat anything. I don't know about anyone else, but I cannot barely eat anything. I actually vomited yesterday. Anyone else have this problem?

jodik-what is your doesage? sometimes if you start out on a lower dose and work your way up to whatever the dr prescribed it will help with the stomach issues. I am now on 1500 mg for about a month now. Side effects do go away i promise at least they did for me. BUt i figured that if it was only discomfort and it helped me have a happy healthy baby then it was worth the cost. letme know if you have anymore questions.

I agree with Tammy. I started on 500 once a day and am now up to 1000 twice a day and I only have problems when I eat junk food. If I eat right then I only feel BLAH every once in a while. Otherwise I feel like I normally do. I've already lost 6 pounds since seeing my RE. It's a baby step, but in the end it will work itself out!

I have been on for a little over a week. I took 1 500mg a day for the first week, then 2 starting two days ago. I got very gassy the first few days with the 1 pill, and then was fine, then had the same problem when I upped the dose. I think it will probably even out again in a day or two.
