DH told me a few days ago that he thinks I exhibit signs of depression sometimes, and he wanted me to go talk to someone about it. Luckily, I have this great benefit through work that lets me see a counselor for 6 sessions, free of charge per incident per year. How great is that? I just didn’t want to have to use it.
So I had my first psychotherapy session last night. The counselor seems very nice. I’m thinking that a lot of my problems are depression from dealing with TTC. She thinks she can help, and wants to see me again. She asked me if I attend any support groups of any kind, and I said no, but I told her about SoulCysters, because its my main source of support. I’ve been a member for a LONG time, I just don’t post very much so no one really knows me. I’m a pretty much constant lurker though, and I know a lot of the regulars on here from their posts.
I’m just rambling now, I guess. This is my first visit to this forum, but I really think its where I belong. I’m looking forward to continuing my psychotherapy, and seeing what my counselor has to say about my state of mind. Good luck to us all, cysters.

Like you I am a lurker! I haven't seen anyone about my depression, but sometimes it seems like enough to just bounce all of my crazy thoughts off of someone. I have had bad post partem depression with both of my daughters, but it was better this last time. The only thing I have ever taken is Xanex for anxiety attacks about 11 years ago.
I can understand your feelings on TTC! We had tried for 7 years and had just about given up hope when I stumbled upon PCOS info. and figured out what was going on - then I got pg on my own (go figure!). Good luck with everything - you have friends here!!!

Thanks for checking on me! I have my 2nd session this Saturday, and I’m really looking forward to it. My doctor asked me to keep a journal and bring it with me, to give her an idea on my thought processes, I’m guessing. That’s going okay. I’ve always kept a sort of a journal, so this isn’t too bad of homework. It’s amazing me in keeping this journal how much of my thoughts center on TTC and PG and babies and whatnot. I’m in the process of trying to get back into school, I’m hoping it’ll give me something else to concentrate on, so we’ll see how that goes.
