My Mood: Points: 1,508.43 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,508.43 | starting glumetza instead of met.... Is there anything I should know about glumetza? I could not stomach the met and I really, really want to lose some weight! I'm hoping glumetza will help with that. Has it helped anyone else lose weight?

Oh, I started thyroid meds at the same time so don't know which one to attribute the weight loss too. I am only on 500 mg of glumetza, but so far I realy like it- no side effects. |

My Mood: Points: 2,993.62 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,993.62 | I switched from Fortamet to Glumetza about 2 months ago. And, although I have not lost any weight due to continually high testosterone levels, I cannot tell any significant differences between the two brands--they are both extended-release metformin, after all. One inconvenient thing about Glumetza is that it is only available in 500mg tablets; so, if you take 2000mg like I do, you are stuck taking 4 rather large pills. However, I have noticed that the coating on the pills is different and is much easier to swallow. |
