Default Starting laser treatments tomorrow!

I just had to share that I starting laser treatments tomorrow on my entire face, neck, and between my breasts. I have had to shave my face/neck since I was in high school as I have found nothing else that works. I have been plucking the hair between and on my breats for almost as long, but it seemed I could never get it all at once.

If this works, I truly believe it will be a life changing experience for me.

I am scared that it will be painful, but at the same time, I am willing to put up with A LOT of pain to get this done.

Congratulations on your decision and good luck!!!
I had my second visit yesterday for laser on my face, and I am soooooooo happy with the results (i had huge amount of hair on my face).
I cant believe how soft my skin is now, i touch my face all the time to feel it! and is only the second time. I still have hair of course, but less and softer.
Keep us posted about the results
ps. its a bit painful but its so worth it!!! i took (the second time) a pain killer prior to the visit and i was quite comfortable with the pain

I just started laser hair removal 2 weeks ago for my face. I can already tell a difference. It is growing in MUCH slower and seems to not be as coarse. I think I am going to respond well to the treatment. I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin and I thought it would be really irritating, but it did hurt a bit when it was getting done, but I tell you what, getting a chemical burn on my face from hair removal cream hurts a lot worse than that. I go in on 3/14 for the next treatment, so we will see how that goes.

glad you are getting it done! I had it done to my bikini, bottom of tummy, arms, chin and butt, and I love it! I'm only completely done with the bikini but it's a huge difference. If you have light skin and coarse dark hair it works the best. That's the type I have and all my life I've hated being so hairy and this has been a tremendous help. I'm not totally hairfree in the spots they do but what grows back is much lighter and finer. In my opinion it's worth every penny!

Quick question about LHR.

Did you guys have your hormone levels under control before undertaking this? Does it matter?

My dermatologist wouldn't let me do it unless they were under control. In fact, I think my endocrinologist had to send a letter or lab tests or something. My hormone levels have been in check for probably close to 18 months now. I didn't have any new hair, just tons of hair in general. I really thought that was good of him to do it, because that is a lot of money to waste if you aren't sure it won't come back. I joked with my friends that this is a several thousand dollar reminder to take my meds every day

I go back next week for the next treatment and I am so impressed with how this is working for me. I have very pale skin (lots of freckles, very eaily sunburned) and coarse black hair. The dermatologist said this was the best type of skin/hair combo to have to do this.

I highly recommend going to a dermatologist to get this done. I know there are lots of "Laser Centers" out there, but I know I am getting a very high standard of care when I go to a board certified physician.

Which is better -- laser or electolysis? Were you able to set up any type of payment plan?

For those of you that have used bleach on your arms. What brand do you recommend?

Thanks,
Kim

I never tried electrolysis. I have only tried laser, so I'm no help there.

As for payment, I pay each time I go ($275, they are running a GREAT deal right now, and it is even cheaper than when they first quoted me a price.) Originally it was going to be about $3500, and now it will cost about $1600. That is for 6 treatments.

About my arms, I don't do anything about that. I have dark hair there, but I just figured that everyone could get over it, as it doesn't bother me

What areas are you having lasered. I would prioritize and start with my chin. I hate shaving my chin --makes me feel like a guy. I can handle waxing my upper lip. Then I would move to my arms which I'm sure would be expensive. Do you need a referral to meet with a dermatologist to find out more into.

Thanks for your help!

I am having my sideburns, upper lip, under my lip, chin, and throat done. All the hair there is coarse black and nothing was taking care of it.

I didn't need a referral to go see the dermatologist, but my health insurance doesn't require me to get a referral. I didn't have to pay for the initial consultation. However, my health insurance won't pay for the laser treatment, I have the honor of paying for that
