I am starting met tomorrow - 500 mg with breakfast for 2 weeks then 2 pills for 2 weeks and finally the 3 pills. I have to call my dr. after the 1st 2 weeks to let him know how it is going. I am scared about the side effects, but hoping by starting slowly it will be better.
Diet wise, I am just going to watch it. I am relatively thin, so I am not going on a low carb diet I am just going to try and be smart. I have to force myself to eat breakfast with the pill, so I am planning on doing more protein than carbs.
I hope this brings on my period, I want to get pregnant with my 2nd baby. The dr. said once I was on all 3 pills, that if I hadn't gotten a period we would look into Clomid.
Hi! Welcome! Try not to be scared/nervous about taking the Met. If you have food in your tummy and you watch the amount of carbs you eat (and balance them with protein) you should be fine. I think it's very wise to be dosing up so slowly... you won't regret that. Another thing that helps the MET work more efficiently is exercise. MET seems to work for a lot of ladies to bring on AF so the chances are high that it will work for you. Good luck and it's nice to 'meet' you!

Welcome! Minimizing carbs, regular exercise & low dosing are all awesome advice. If you'd like more info on Met, check out the FAQ thread on the Metformin page.
Wishing you well!
