Default Starting Metformin soon!

Hello Cysters,

I will be starting Metformin in the coming week and I was just wondering what to expect the first couple of weeks. What results should I expect to see? Thank you very much!!

I was on Met for a while.. my doc made me cut the dose in half.. like instead of 500mg 3 times a day, it was 250 for each meal (a total of 750) as not to have the horrible visits to the toilet :| I still had those visits, lol.. my stomach is just too sensitive.. felt horrible for the first couple of days and then increased the dose until my body adjusted with it.. I've been off for over a year (actually wasn't seeing my doc) but I did recently and will be starting met tomorrow or today at lunch if I had the courage :S

Hi

I just took my first dose of Metformin. I'm starting on 250mg once per day increasing to 250mg twice a day, then 500mg once a day, then 500mg in the morning and 250mg in the evening, then 500mg twice a day then final 750mg a day as advised by my doc.

The tablets a bugger to split in half - lost most of the half I was taking. Hoping I won't have any adverse side effects but we'll see............
