Default Starting/Stopping BCP

I've been on Ortho cyclen 28 for 2 years. My new PCOS doc wanted me to consider going off them because she said they make IR worse. So i stopped. I was due to start taking a higher dose of met at the same time I stopped.

But in yet another act of treason, my body had other ideas. Routine annual bloodwork turned up alarming numbers for my liver. My regular every day primary care physician took me off met immediately. After weeks, we finally identified that I had probably had a bout with viral hepatitis (not the bad kind) caused by Epstien Barre Virus (it causes mono which I gave my boyfriend...poor guy). Anyway my numbers are not going down enough for her to let me go back on met.

It's coming up on 2 months now that I've been without met and the hair on my lip is dark and unbleachable and has to be done almost daily. I'm getting my thick hairs back on my face in various locations. I've gained about 7 lbs and my hair is falling out in clumps (though this could be the levo).

I'm depressed about it to say the least, and yesterday, I got news that she wants me to hold off on the met for still a while longer because my numbers aren't going down fast enough. she may also need me to see a liver specialist. We all know how hard it is to get into specialists.

Anyway, I am wondering whether going back on the BCP will mitigate some of my symptoms. I know that for normal women they're supposed to start a pack on the first day of their cycle, but I haven't had a cycle since I got off the pill.

Does anyone have experience with going back on the pill? Do I have to wait for a cycle to restart or can I just start taking them again? It's only been 2 months. Do I need to get a doc to trigger my cycle so I can go back on it?

Any advice would be welcome, I am absolutely miserable.
