Default starting yasmin stopped AF!

I have decided to TAB from TTC for a few months and relieve myself of some of the icky pcos symptoms

So I started my period on Saturday and starting my BCPs on Sunday. AF came right on time this month...a perfect 28 day cycle BUT..I had barely any cramps and it was more of a spotting (brown) Sunday I had a little actual bleeding and then Monday/Tuesday it STOPS! I have never had any kind of spotting before and AF has been pretty regular (28-35 day cycles) I have also been having nausea and sore breasts (could be PG symptoms, BCP symptoms or AF symptoms lol) sooo...what gives? Can the hormones in BCPs actually STOP your period?

In a nutshell you get a "period" on BCPs because when you stop taking them, your progesterone levels (as provided by the pills) drop... and as they drop your body is not able to build/maintain the uterine lining... so the lining sheds. So I guess it would make sense that as you start BCPs, the progesterone could cause bleeding to stop. BCPs are often prescribed to halt unexplained vaginal bleeding.

I think that often with a "Sunday start," statistically speaking most people would start their periods more than just a day or so before Sunday... so most women would have more of a bleed their first cycle on the pill. Since you *just* started on Saturday and then essentially began progesterone supplementation (via the pill) immediately, it seems reasonable that it could have stopped your bleeding and resulted in a very short period.

It's also possible that you had a thin lining this cycle and didn't have much to shed.

Are you sure you ovulated this past cycle?

If you are worried you might take a pregnancy test just to be sure (I probably would)... you could be preg and could have just had implantation spotting. But then again sometimes a short period is just a short period.

I take Yasmin and have very short, light periods and no cramps.
