Just to add to the first thought of seeking God's will, we're also told, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Phil. 4:6
It's OK to tell God what you'd like, as long as you realize He might have something else in mind for you! We're told in Jer. that God won't keep the good things from those who love Him! I certainly find myself hanging on to that Scripture some days... It might not be exactly what I want or when I want it, but I know it's going to be good! Isn't God awesome?!!?!?
