By stats, do you mean letting them view your profile and such?
If so, I think that's the point of letting them be your friends. If you have your profile marked private, I believe that "friends" are allowed access once they're designated as such.
If you want to be the only person who can see your stats, you're probably better off just removing information you don't want anyone to see.
(For everyone else reading this...you can make your profile private from non-registered members, and you can also make it viewable by your friends only)

I was just doing some sleuthing for Holland and can't seem to find the place where we're able to designate our profile as public, private, etc. I used to have mine hidden from the whole board, except for those marked as my friend. Now I don't see that choice as being available.
It used to be under "Edit Profile" with the old board, but I can't even find that option now. There is "Edit Options" but I couldn't find it under there, nor under "Edit Details" or "Edit Extra Option" which are some new choices.
I was saving all my questions, but since you mentioned it . . . . . . can we not hide our profiles from registered, non-friends like we used to be able to do?
The additional privacy options might be something I need to enable in admincp, or it might be a mod that I had added to the old board (which may or may not work with the upgraded software. We've had some mods for so long, it's hard for me to remember what comes with the software and what doesn't.)
I have to travel for work, but when I get back, I'm going to start going through each of the major sections, item by item, and opening them up for comments. I think that will be the easiest way to address items for the techs.
There are a GAZILLION new settings to deal with...bleh.
