Statistics w/wieght loss and getting pregnant......
Thanks for reading my post! So, I have a question, though I am not new to PCOS, I have not taken it very seriously as I wasn't trying to get pregnant and all my labs have always come back normal, except for my testosterone levels. Which, give me my lovely extra facial hair. So, here are some questions I have. Within the past year i've lost about 70 lbs. I now weigh less than when i was 21!! I'm very happy over this and still want to loose 35 more lbs. So, does anyone know how this increases the chance for fertility? Also I got the Mirena IUD cause I didn't want the hormones coursing through my body. Does anyone know if this will affect me later? Also, there is soo much conflicting reports out there.... and i look at my mom and she has all the symptoms (externally) that my sister and I have and she had 5 kids naturally! Also, my periods are pretty regular. Does this really indicate ovulation? Cause I was told if you have a period it means your body ovulated. So, even if someone doesn't have them often, wouldn't they still be able to get pregnant if they "did it" at the right time? Sorry for all my questions. I'm now in a relationship that i believe is going to go far and we both want kids bad. Thanks for all your help!!
I got pregnant by losing weight. In fact, I just lost 32 lbs. and counting, and I had my first normal period this month. My mil just commented the other day on how every time I get skinny, I get pregnant. lol
You can have regular periods without ovulating. But for me, when I'm having them, I am ovulating, and seem to be a fertile myrtle. Also some women with pcos do not have trouble getting pregnant. Most do, but their are some exceptions. Maybe your mom is one.
Congratulations on your weight loss. I truly believe that will go a long way when it's time for you to start your family!
