Default STILL tired??...

Hey Ladies!

Yeah I'm at the 13 week point, and it seems that even though the nausea and acid reflux have subsided for the time being I'm still extremely exhausted. I'm feeling like when will this go away?!? A friend of mine who is a little bit ahead of me in her pregnancy keeps telling me that, 'this too shall pass.' However I'm curious. Has anyone remained tired through their whole pregnancy? I'm maybe a little paranoid, just hoping that the tiredness will subside in time for school to start up again for me.

I felt loads better in every way by week 16 or so. There was no magic change at the 2nd trimester mark, everything was gradual.

I am one of those women who have the "pregnancy symptoms" through out my whole pregnancy. It was that way with DD and continues to be that way with this one as well. I have the nausea, exhaustion, etc...etc.... and I am pushing the 21 week mark here.

I hope you start to feel less tired very soon and that you are blessed with the second trimester reprieve from the symptoms. But if you don't just know you are not alone.

I'm approaching the 26 week point and I have to say I am still exhausted. Its so hard to go to work and be this tired all the time, but like Celestial I seem to have had all the "pregnancy symptoms" throughout. Unfortunatly I still deal with nausea, some vomiting and all that other fun stuff. I certainly hope you get better, 2 of the girls I work with breezed right through their 2nd trimesters, everyone is different I suppose...

While there are no guarantees, 13 weeks is a little too soon to expect the exhaustion to be gone, even though it is for some people. I agree with the previous poster who said week 15-16 is usually a better breaking point.

Hang in there. It really will pass eventually.

I am just past 16 weeks, and I have found that my energy levels are way better than they were before. I will sometimes need a nap, or feel a slump here and there, but for the most part the difference I feel is fantastic. I didn't believe everyone who kept saying "it will get better", but it happened. It was definitely gradual though, not like flipping a switch between one trimester and the next.

I'm starting to get more energy (endurance), but am still very fatigued. I was that way the entire pregnancy with my dd, so I don't know what to expect this time around... I also had preterm labor with her and was on bedrest for over 3 weeks...

Yeah I hear that it varies person, to person, and pregnancy to pregnancy. Celestial and Maloney sorry to hear that you have to put up with all that through out. I don't know how I'd hold a job this way... let alone pick up my college work again in a couple weeks. However I am getting way better sleep than I have in years. I think my body is just finally exhausted to a point that no matter how much of an insomniac I can be that it just needs sleep!
Has anyone experienced random periods of feeling light headed, or extremely weak for no reason? I had that the other day and I had to eat something and lie down before I felt better.
Haha... if you can't tell this is my first. So I'm full of questions. I'm not really freaked out by anything, just more curious. And because I know that pregnancy is different for everyone I guess it's nice being able to ask a group of women so maybe someone knows.
Although there was this point when my nausea started letting up that I started wondering if I had misscarried or something. Lol! Even though I didn't have any signs of having done so I let my mind play tricks on me.
Anyone out there also experience extreme forgetfulness? I can hardly seem to remember anything.

I work with pregnant women on a daily basis and more often than not, the tiredness lasts throughout the entire pregnancy. Just part of it.

Just in case, you might want to have your doctor check your hemoglobin levels. I'm 23w2d and i'm exhausted all the time. But, i'm anemic. You might find that iron supplements help you a great deal.

VERY good point. Iron supplementation is common in pregnancy too. You often need that little extra iron!

I'm almost 18 weeks and still tired, but it's a different tired. During the first trimester, I was exhausted beyond belief! Now, I'm tired, but nothing like the first trimester. I can still get things done a lot better than I could before, but I'm not as energetic as I was pre-pregnancy.
