Default Stomach Hair?

I've always had hair from my belly button down to my pelvic area, and ever since i was young I tried to shave it, because it really bugged me.

Years later of course, I find out I have PCOS and it causes that...

I break out really easy from shaving, and i was wondering if anyone's tried anything else that worked and didn't break them out? To make matters worse, my hair is dark so it leaves a slight shadow (but enough to bug me!) just a day or so after I shaved.

I wax my legs and lip b/c I also have problems shaving. Interestingly, I used to have the "treasure trail" that you describe (the hair was fine, but dark and a fair amount). But at some point (maybe around the time I turned 30, I'm 40 now) it just sort of disappeared. The hair on my face got worse then, but the stomach hair just went away.

i just pluck the darkest hairs

and then after that, i pluck the next darkest hairs

right now, i'm not in a relationship so i'm not worrying about shaving. let's see.. there is Nair, Magic Powder, waxing, i've read here that using men's electric shavers work well, plucking.. so you have a few options, i hope you find something that works without giving ingrowns, those can be hell

I've got it. I have a few terminal hairs around my belly button, quite a few in a very wide happy trail below that, and dark but fine/soft hair between the navel and breast area.

I actually don't necessarily know if in my case they are PCOS related- my mother is incredibly hairy, as well, and she does not have PCOS. Either way, though, I wax and pluck. I leave the dark but soft stuff alone; DH doesn't mind it.
