Since starting Met, I'm noticing REALLY loud gurgling and noises from my belly. It's almost as if my digestive process is louder now.
Anyone else? It's a bit strange (and sometimes embarrassing).

Oh yeah, my stomach has a virtual megaphone now! It wakes the dog up and he stares at my stomach and cocks his head to the side trying to figure out what is going on... it's like the old RCA dog if you remember that...
Shari, I agree it is from your digestion process. Probably the excess gas moving things along down there. Not very polite of our intestines to have such conversations amongst eachother, eh? And you just know they are talking about you!

my stomach made weird noises for hours when i first started met and then they'd disappear for a while after (tmi, i know) a very, very loud gassy episode. might have been funny had i not been stressing about the situation being permanent.
Thanks for your replies. Glad to see that I'm not alone.
It does seem to be better the last week or two.

LOL...I know, I was in my Director's office and my stomach was making really bad noises, I was so embarrassed. He was acting as if he didn't hear it, but I knew he heard it. I didn't even wan to excuse myself be cause the sound was beyond a growl, so I couldn't blame it on that...I can say that it has happend to me before.
I have had the issue at meetings, too. I always say my stomach goblin is approving/disapproving of the topic, but I'm often the odd gal who is a little cooky and stuffy people just don't get my humor.... it is totally a cultural thing to be embarrassed by body functions... I have been many places and surprised when someone breaks wind or belches in public and no one bats an eye, I'm always laughing inside like a 10 year old!
Yeah I have just started Met too and have the stomach growling, I am only on 500mg as of now, but will increase my doses, I hope it doesn't get worse from there. Hopefully it is just a period of our bodies adjusting to the medication.

My grumbling and rumbling is starting to slow down... I have finally made my max Met dosage for the last week (started about 2 months ago, slowly increasing) and have noticed that things are finally started to balance out in the gastro-intestinal tract... however, it could also be from doing Atkins and having less carbs. Just thought I would give you my time frame if it helps you to know
